MILWAUKEE – Pierce Spencer of Porter, Texas, is transferring to Milwaukee and is officially a member of men's basketball roster for the upcoming season, head coach Bart Lundy announced today.

A 6-foot, 3-inch, 175-pound guard, Spencer transfers into the MKE program following three seasons at Nicholls State.

"We are excited to add Pierce to our program," Lundy said. "He is the ultimate competitor and gives us toughness and grit. He is a proven winner and will have an immediate impact for the Panthers."

Spencer is coming off a junior campaign in which he was named to the Southland Conference All-Defensive Team, averaging 7.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in addition to a team-leading 1.6 steals per contest. He made 17 starts in 21 appearances, also averaging over three assists (3.1 apg) on the season.

As a sophomore, he made 24 starts in 30 games for the Colonels, averaging 9.0 points while netting double-figures on 12 occasions, highlighted by a career-best 25 points against New Orleans in January. Hit on 71.2 percent of his free throws and 32.1 percent of three-pointers. Finished third on the team in rebounding at 5.4 per game and added 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game. That followed a freshman campaign in which he made 22 appearances (3.5 ppg/3.2 rpg).

He scored 2,107 points (25.4 ppg) in a four-year high school career at Lake Creek High School in Montgomery, Texas, while playing for his father. Selected for District 20-5A MVP, first-team All-District, first-team All-Montgomery County and All-Region honors as both a junior and senior as well as a second-team All-District nod as a sophomore. Spencer capped his career with The Courier of Montgomery County Player of the Year accolades and with Texas Class 5A All-State honors as a senior after recording per-game averages of 23.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 3.4 steals per game.
