INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee senior outfielder
Luke Seidel was named Milwaukee's first Batter of the Week for the 2023 season, as the Horizon League announced its weekly award winners for the 10th week of the year.

Seidel joins
Nick Gilhaus (
March 8) and
Riley Frey (
April 4) to receive weekly accolades from the conference, as Gilhaus and Frey earned Pitcher of the Week recognition for their selections.

The Panther leadoff hitter played in all three of the Panthers' wins on a 3-1 week and made the most of his at bats by going 8-for-11 for a .727 batting average on the week. Included in his hits was the game-winning walk-off single in the in the team's 5-4 win over Northern Kentucky on Friday afternoon.

Seidel had three extra-base hits with a pair of doubles and a triple as he drove in three runs and scored four on the week. On the base paths, Seidel was 2-for-2 on the week to give him 16 stolen bases on the year.

On the year, Seidel is hitting .289 with five doubles, a triple and one home run. He has 17 RBIs on the year and has scored 24 runs. He has a .363 slugging percentage and a .331 on-base percentage; and has hit in 23 of the team's 36 contest.

Milwaukee plays at Northwestern on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. before hosting MSOE on Wednesday at American Family Field at 5:30 p.m.
