Milwaukee Men’s Basketball Inks Elijah Jamison To NLI

High-scoring guard had over 2,600 points in high school

MILWAUKEE – Elijah Jamison has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Milwaukee men's basketball team, head coach Bart Lundy made official today.

"We are extremely happy about the addition of Elijah Jamison to our roster," Lundy said. "Elijah is a player that I have known for a long time and has had a storied high school career in North Carolina. Not only is he a tremendous player, but he is a tremendous young man and an excellent student. He will step into the league as one of the more physical, aggressive guards at his age and we expect big things from him."

Jamison, a 6-foot, 3-inch, 195-pound guard, comes to Milwaukee after a high school career that saw him finish fifth on North Carolina's all-time scoring list with over 2,600 career points.

Jamison spent his senior year at Liberty Heights Athletic Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina, helping the team to a 30-3 overall campaign. He averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists, while shooting 51 percent from the field and 36 percent from the behind the arc.

That followed three seasons at Louisburg High School, where he averaged 26.4 points per game in his three-year varsity career. His 2,664 total career points places him fifth on the all-time North Carolina High School Athletic Association scoring list, helping his teams go 46-6 over his final two campaigns.

He averaged nearly 30 points per game as a junior (29.7 ppg), adding an impressive 12.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 26 contests. Jamison also got to the free throw line in high quantities, shooting 310 in 26 games in 2019-20, connecting on 73.2 percent (227-of-310) of the attempts.

A four-year starter, Jamison opened his prep career by averaging 20.2 points and 5.4 rebounds as a freshman before following that up with per-game averages of 28.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists as a sophomore.

Jamison is a highly-touted prospect, choosing Milwaukee over offers from Wichita State, Middle Tennessee, UNCW, Elon, and East Carolina among others.
