MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee tennis team has earned the No. 4 seed in the Horizon League Championships and will face No. 5 Oakland University Friday, April 29 from the Varsity Tennis Center hosted by the University of Michigan at 2 p.m. (CT).
WAIT…DIDN'T THE PANTHERS JUST FACE THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES?: If this seems familiar, it is. The Panthers and Golden Grizzlies faced each other just last weekend where the Panthers earned a come-from-behind 4-3 victory.

Mayya Perova,
Nikki Milner and
Anika Tylek picked up key wins in singles to even the match, but reigning Freshman of the Year,
Greta Carbone defeated 2022's Freshman of the Year, Liza Mladentseva, 7-5. 3-6, 6-3 in dramatic fashion for the match victory.
Milwaukee finished the season 8-13 overall, but 3-3 in conference play, placing them a seed above the 8-10, 2-4 Golden Grizzlies.
POST SEASON AWARDS: Mayya Perova earned her second league honor of her career by being named to the All-Horizon First Team. The Moscow native finished with a team best 16 wins and 11 victories in doubles. Perova competed primarily from the No. 2 singles line (10-4), but also went 6-1 from the No. 1 position. She was also named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team as well.
Fellow classmate
Nikki Milner also received an All-Academic honorable mention achievement. The Business major earned a perfect 4.0 fall semester grade point average and holds a 3.826 cumulative GPA.
