MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Jessi Giles of Madison, South Dakota is transferring from Dakota State to play for the Milwaukee women's basketball team, head coach
Kyle Rechlicz announced on Friday.
Giles, a graduate transfer, joins incoming freshman Kamy Peppler and Jada Williams to complete the roster for the 2022-23 season.
"We are thrilled to have Jessi join our Panther family," Rechlicz said. "She brings great experience and will fit our culture with her competitive mentality. She is a prolific scorer who has been consistent throughout her career. Jessi is a proven winner who will add depth to our Milwaukee back court."
Giles joins the Panthers after stellar career with the Trojans where she was named NAIA All-American for the third consecutive season. She was two-time North Star Athletic Association Player of the Year and a member of the All-Conference team all four seasons.
The guard set a school record with 603 points in 2021-22, (17.2 points per game) which put her 21st in the NAIA. Giles helped Dakota State to its second consecutive NSAA regular season and tournament titles, totaling 54 wins in the two years.
Giles is the all-time scoring leader in Dakota State women's basketball program history, racking up a total of 1,955 points during her four-year career. Additionally, she ranks first all-time in free throws made (327), eighth in free throw percentage (75.0), third in three-pointers (234), second in three-point percentage (39.0), and seventh in steals (214).
