MILWAUKEE, Wis. –
Riley Frey of the Milwaukee baseball team was named Horizon League Pitcher of the Week thanks to a solid showing last weekend.
The award marks the first weekly accolade for Frey and second straight week Milwaukee has had a pitcher of the week after
Nick Gilhaus earned the honor last week.
Frey was lights out on Friday, leading the Panthers to a 6-2 win over Dayton. The sophomore earned the win, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings and scattering just three hits. Frey struck out eight and walked three in the win. The lefty currently leads the Horizon League with two wins and ranks fourth in innings pitched (21.2) and third in strikeouts (24).
Frey and the Panthers will next head to Penn State for a three-game series beginning on Friday, March 18.
