Block, Watson Collect Horizon League Weekly Awards

Panthers compete this Friday

MILWAUKEE – Sophomore Natalie Block and senior Kate Watson were named Horizon League Track and Field Athletes of the Week the league announced Tuesday.
 
It's the fifth and sixth weekly awards for the Panthers during the indoor season and first for Watson in her MKE career. Block collects her second weekly award of the season, and third of her career.
 
Block was named Women's Runner of the Week after placing first in the 400m at the Red Hawk Invite on Saturday. The sophomore, running her first career 400m, posted a time of 56.60 seconds which currently ranks first in the Horizon League. Block also placed second in the high jump at 1.61m.
 
Watson was named Women's Field Athlete of the Week behind a first-place finish in the pole vault at the Red Hawk Invite. The senior, who has finished first in the pole vault three consecutive meets, jumped to a mark of 3.75m which ranks fourth in the Horizon League.
 
Milwaukee will split the squad on Friday, with sprinters, hurdlers, and distance athletes heading to Grand Valley State for the Friday Big Meet while the field athletes will compete at Hoosier Hills hosted by Indiana.
