MILWAUKEE, Wis. – A trio of Milwaukee baseball pitchers were mentioned in D1Baseball.com's Horizon League Preview including Riley Frey, who was listed as preseason Pitcher of the Year.
 
Frey was also named a top prospect for the 2023 MLB Draft while AJ Blubaugh made the list for the 2022 MLB Draft and Logan Schulfer was one of five named as an Impact Freshman.
 
Milwaukee is predicted to place third in the Horizon League, according to D1Baseball.com. The Panthers are a relatively young squad but return a solid core as returners account for 51 of 55 starts on the mound.
 
Frey put one of the most memorable freshman campaigns in recent program history, earning 14 starts and totaling 67 strikeouts, both of which rank first all-time for a Panthers' freshman. The lefty led MKE starters and ranked fifth in the league with a 3.60 ERA.
 
Blubaugh, the reigning Horizon League Reliever of the Year, was dominant out of the bullpen for the Panthers. He finished the season with a 2.63 ERA and eight saves in 18 appearances. Blubaugh struck out 37 in 27.1 innings pitched and held the opposition to a .188 batting average.
 
Schulfer enters his first year with the Panthers having been named Wisconsin Valley Conference Player of the Year as senior. The righty is the younger brother of former Panther Austin Schulfer, who had an impressive four-year career at MKE and was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2018 MLB Draft.
