FORT WAYNE, Ind. –
Kyra Arendt earned her third straight Horizon League triple jump title to lead the Milwaukee women's track and field team on day three of the Horizon League Championships. Heading into the final day of competition, Milwaukee sits in second with 102.83 points.
Arendt led the field with a 11.95-meter mark giving her a third straight title. Her leap was nearly one foot clear of the next finisher. The Panthers have now won five straight triple jump titles and 13 of the last 14.
Chieme Udaku also reached the podium in the triple jump for Milwaukee, earning third place with a leap of 11.61 meters.
Udaku also led the Panthers in the 60-meter dash, crossing in 7.81 seconds to set a new personal record and move her into ninth on the program's all-time list. The junior picked up four points for Milwaukee in the sprint.
Hailey Migliano knocked off three seconds from her previous best time in the mile as she finished in 5:16.41 to place seventh.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Cloey Fare set a new personal record with a time of 9.27. The finish placed her eighth at the championships and earned a point for the Panthers.
Alayna Franson set a new personal record in the 800-meter race, finishing in 2:19.98 to place fifth for Milwaukee.
Aubrey Anderson followed closely in 2:20.23 to earn three points with a sixth-place finish.
Freshman
Natalie Block qualified for tomorrow's 200-meter dash final with time of 25.81.
