MILWAUKEE, Wis. –
Ari Miller of the Milwaukee volleyball team was named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-North Region on Tuesday morning.
It marks Miller's first All-Region selection and Milwaukee's first since Rachel Neuberger in 2013. Miller is one of 14 players on the All-Region team, 11 of whom play in the Big Ten.
"Ari had an incredible season overall," head coach
Susie Johnson commented. "She has shown she is premier attacker in our region. Her work ethic is unmatched. Ari has great energy and shows up consistently at such a high level and I'm so excited that she was recognized with this great honor."
Miller was a staple in the Panthers' lineup, leading Milwaukee to a 22-9 overall record and 16-2 mark in Horizon League play as MKE claimed the program's 14th regular season title and first since 2013.
The award comes on the heels of Miller being named Horizon League Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-League. She was also named Horizon League Player of the Week four times, the most of any player this season.
The Jackson, Wis. native was unstoppable, leading the league with a .387 attack percentage and ranking third in kills per set (3.57) and fourth in points per set (4.09). Miller set new career highs in kills (411) and attack percentage (.387) and added 32 digs and 83 blocks in 2021.
Miller recorded at least 10 kills on 23 occasions and hit at least .300 in 24 matches.
