GREENWOOD, Ind. – Three members of the Milwaukee volleyball program were recognized for their excellence on the court and in the classroom, as seniors
Kara Erdmann,
Josie Johnson and
Natalie Schmitz earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors for the 2025 season.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes who combine strong academic achievement with athletic performance. To be eligible, nominees must carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and be key contributors to their respective teams.
Erdmann, from Forreston, Illinois, posted a 3.74 cumulative GPA while majoring in finance and marketing and was also a member of the Horizon League All-Academic Team. On the court, she led Milwaukee with 543 total digs, averaging 5.12 digs per set during the 2025 campaign.
Johnson, from Burlington, Wisconsin, earned the honor with a 3.68 GPA while majoring in communications. She finished the season with 535 assists while adding 18 service aces as the Panthers' primary offensive distributor. A fixture in the Milwaukee lineup, Johnson played and started all 32 matches.
Schmitz, from Ham Lake, Minnesota, rounded out the group with a 3.91 GPA in accounting and marketing and was also named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team. She provided a consistent scoring presence, leading the team with 297 kills while posting a .211 hitting percentage over the course of the season. Schmitz saw action in all 32 matches with 13 starts.
Across the Horizon League, a total of 21 student-athletes from 10 institutions earned CSC Academic All-District recognition. Purdue Fort Wayne led the league with four selections, followed by Milwaukee, Youngstown State, Robert Morris, Northern Kentucky and Oakland with three apiece, and IU Indy with two.
