Baldwin Jr. Named Horizon League Freshman Of The Week

Honored after big outing in return to court

MILWAUKEE Patrick Baldwin Jr. of the Milwaukee men's basketball team has been named the Horizon League Nike® Freshman of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon.

Baldwin Jr. returned after missing three games due to injury to lead the Panthers to a 77-69 victory over RMU Saturday on ESPNU. He finished with a game-high 26 points, going 6-for-6 from 3-point range, while adding seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. The 6-of-6 showing from long-distance equaled the 30-year old school record for best 3-point field-goal percentage in a game.

The 26 points were the second-most points scored in a Horizon League game this season and also the third-most scored by a freshman in a single game in Milwaukee program history, trailing only games of 31 and 29 all-time.

He's just the third MKE freshman to win the league honor all-time (it started for the 2013-14 season) and now becomes the first from Milwaukee to win it twice in the same season.
