Milwaukee MBB Adds Pair Of Standout NLI Signings

Panthers add two during early signing period

MILWAUKEE – Brian Taylor of St. Louis, Mo., and Dylan Arnett of Chicago, Ill., have signed their National Letter of Intent and are set to play for the Milwaukee men's basketball team next season.

Head coach Pat Baldwin made the official announcement today.

Taylor, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound point guard, is set for his senior season at DeSmet Jesuit High School in St. Louis. This will be his third year as the starter and excels on both ends of the court. A year ago, he averaged a team-best 13.2 points in addition to 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in helping the Spartans finish 15-7 and a spot in the State Class 5 quarterfinals. He is considered one of the top returning players in the St. Louis area and enjoyed an excellent summer with Gateway Basketball Club – earning more than a dozen offers.

"We are ecstatic to welcome Brian Taylor, Jr. to our Panther family," Baldwin said. "Our culture and style of play is a great fit for Brian. He has a great family and they have done a tremendous job of developing him."

As a sophomore, Taylor put up per-game averages of 10.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game over the course of 29 contests, shooting 49.8 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent on three-pointers.

"In addition, his high school Coach Kent Williams has been instrumental in his development as a playmaker, scorer and competitor," Baldwin said. "His athleticism and play making abilities will be beneficial to what we do in our backcourt."

Arnett is a senior at DePaul College Prep in Chicago and was a big contributor on the No. 1 team in the state of Illinois that ranked No. 23 nationally last year. A 6-foot-9 forward who can run the floor, Arnett vaulted up the City/Suburban Hoops Report's Class of 2022 rankings after earning Chicagoland Prep Hoops Sixth Man of the Year honors while playing behind a fellow teammate who was also an NCAA DI recruit last winter. He also plays for the Illinois Wolves, winning the Under Armour Association Championship this past summer.

"We are tremendously excited to have Dylan join our Milwaukee Panther family," Baldwin said. "Dylan comes from a great family with tremendous support and his size and athleticism will be a great asset for our program. He has been well-coached and developed incredibly under the tutelage of Tom Kleinschmidt and Mike Mullins."
