MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Thanks to another dominant performance in a series sweep, Megan Walstad of the Milwaukee women's basketball team was named Horizon League Player of the Week.
 
The award marks Walstad's second of her career and season, as she was named Player of the Week on December 14 earlier this season.
 
Walstad helped the Panthers earn their 10th straight victory and move to 13-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 in Horizon League play with a series sweep of Cleveland State. The redshirt sophomore could not be stopped as she averaged 20.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in two games. She finished 16-for-23 (69.6 percent) from the floor and 8-for-9 (88.9 percent) from the line.
 
In Friday's win over the Vikings, Walstad totaled 13 points and 12 rebounds. She followed with another double-double on Saturday, pouring in a career-high 28 points on 11-for-15 shooting while adding 12 rebounds and four blocks.
 
Walstad has now recorded four straight double-doubles and has six total this season which is tied for 18th in the nation. She currently ranks eighth in the league in scoring (13.3ppg), second in rebounding (9.7rpg), second in field goal percentage (53.8 percent), second in free throw percentage (90.0 percent), and first in blocks per game (1.6).
 
The Panthers next head to Indianapolis for a weekend series at IUPUI beginning Friday, January 22 at 5:00 pm CT.
