MILWAUKEE, Wis. - With a victory in Saturday's regular season finale, the Panthers locked up the No. 5 seed for the Horizon League Tournament and next host No. 8 Oakland University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm from the Klotsche Center. The game will be on ESPN+ with Bob Brainerd and Maria Viall on the call.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
After opening February with a pair of wins, Oakland went through a rough stretch the remainder of the month, dropping six of the final seven contests.

The Golden Grizzlies rank in the middle of the Horizon League in nearly every offensive category including points per game (5th, 66.1), field goal percentage (5th, 39.3%), and three-point percentage (5th, 30.2%).

Kahlaijah Dean, who was recently named the Horizon League Sixth Player of the Year, leads the team with 12.0 points per game. The sophomore guard is shooting 35.7 percent from the floor and 30.5 percent from long range.

The last time the Panthers earned a victory in the Horizon League Tournament was in the 2016-17 season when Milwaukee was the No. 5 seed and also played Oakland. That year, the Panthers beat the Golden Grizzlies before falling to Green Bay in the Semifinals. In Rechlicz's tenure, Milwaukee is 3-7 in the Horizon League Tournament. BISPING BRINGIN' IT
In the two games against Oakland this season,
Brandi Bisping is averaging 21.5 points and 7.5 rebounds on 68.2 percent shooting. The junior is also 11-for-11 at the free throw line against the Golden Grizzlies.

For the season, the junior leads the team with 9.4 points per game and ranks second with 6.0 rebounds per contest. Bisping earned her first-career Horizon League Player of the Week award on February 17 after averaging 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in a pair of victories that week. She was also named Horizon League Player of the Week by the College Sports Madness website.

Senior
Jamie Reit has been hot at the right time for Milwaukee. In the last eight games, Reit is averaging 11.0 points per game, shooting 48.5 percent from the floor and 46.4 percent from three-point range. The Stanley, Wis. native is also averaging 6.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game during that stretch. When Reit hits at least two three-pointers, the Panthers are 6-2 this season.

ODEGARD OWNS THE PAINT
Senior
Lizzie Odegard continues to make her presence known inside for the Panthers. After scoring a season-high 19 points to lead the Panthers to a win over Youngstown State, Odegard added seven points and eight rebounds in a win over Cleveland State. In the Panthers' 7-1 stretch in February, Odegard is averaging a team-best 11.9 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 43.9 percent from the floor.

CONVERTING FROM THE CHARITY STRIPE
Milwaukee has found success from the free throw line this Horizon League season and currently ranks second with a 76.1 percentage. If you remove the opening weekend of league play, the Panthers are 169-for-215 at the charity stripe, a 78.6 percentage, which would 8th in NCAA Division I. Overall, Milwaukee is shooting 74.7 percent from the stripe this season, over 70 points better than last year's mark of 66.8 percent. The Panthers rank 46th in the nation from the line.

In the win over Youngstown State, Milwaukee held the Penguins to just six points in the fourth quarter. That marks the stingiest quarter since February 28, 2019 when the Panthers held UIC to just five points in the fourth quarter. On Thursday, Milwaukee held YSU to 2-for-14 shooting including 0-for-4 from three-point range.

Much of Milwaukee's success this season has been in part due to its three-point shooting. The Panthers have knocked down at least 8 three-pointers in eight of the 14 victories this year.
