MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Redshirt senior
Alyssa Fischer of the Milwaukee women's basketball team was named to this year's Horizon League All-Academic team, as announced by the league office on Thursday.
To be eligible for the Horizon League All-Academic team, student-athletes must participate in 50 percent of the team's overall games, have completed one year at the school, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
This marks the first All-Academic Team nod for Fischer and the first for the women's basketball team since Steph Kostowicz in 2016-17. The Manitowoc, Wis. native owns a 4.0 GPA and will graduate with a degree in Information Science and Technology.
Fischer recently became the all-time games played leader in Milwaukee women's basketball history, appearing in 130 contests for the black and gold. This season, Fischer has played valuable minutes and knocked down 16 three-pointers off the bench.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes with All-Academic Teams in each of its 19 championship sports.
