2019-20 Horizon League Schedule Finalized

The Panthers host five of the last seven conference games at home

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Starting December 28, the Milwaukee women's basketball team will begin its quest for a fifth straight season with double-digit Horizon League victories. The entire conference schedule was released on Wednesday morning by the Horizon League office.

The Panthers open league play with back-to-back home contests, welcoming Wright State on December 28 and Northern Kentucky on December 30. The pair of home games close out a stretch of six consecutive dates in December where Milwaukee does not leave the Klotsche Center.

On January 4, Milwaukee opens the new year as it heads north to Green Bay for the first conference road matchup.

The following week, the Panthers head to Michigan for a weekend series against Detroit Mercy (January 9) and Oakland (January 11). Milwaukee had success in Michigan last season, finishing 4-0 against the two conference foes.

On January 17, the Panthers return to the Klotsche Center to host UIC for their annual School Day game. Milwaukee will wrap up the weekend with a January 19 contest against IUPUI.

That Friday, January 24, Milwaukee takes place in another School Day game with a morning matchup at Cleveland State before taking on Youngstown State on January 26. After two more road bouts, January 30 at Northern Kentucky and February 1 at Wright State, the Panthers return to Milwaukee.

MKE will look to use home court advantage at the back end of their league schedule as five of the final seven contests are in the Klotsche Center. That stretch starts with just one game the week of February 3 with the Panthers hosting Green Bay for Alumni Day on February 8.

On Valentine's Day, Milwaukee hosts Oakland before following up with Detroit Mercy on Sunday, February 16.

The final road trip for the black and gold puts them at IUPUI on February 21 and UIC on February 23.

After a February 27 home battle against Youngstown State, Milwaukee will close the regular season with Senior Day versus Cleveland State on February 29.

For the first time, the Horizon League Championships will take place in Indiana at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The Horizon League returns to the double-bye format for the postseason tournament as the top two finishing teams in the regular season earn a bye to the semifinals. The first round and quarterfinals of the tournament will see the teams placing third through 10th competing on campus at the highest available seeds on Tuesday, March 3 and March 5. The final four teams will compete for the Horizon League Championship on March 9-10.
