MILWAUKEE – Arturro Bingham has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Milwaukee men's basketball team, head coach
Pat Baldwin officially announced today.
"I am very excited to add Arturro to our basketball program," Baldwin said. "We are excited about Arturro's high-level athleticism, ability to shoot the ball and his tremendous upside."
Bingham comes to Milwaukee following one season at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Mississippi. He will be eligible immediately and have three years remaining with the Panthers.
"I truly believe we got a major sleeper and he will add a great amount of versatility to our team," Baldwin said.
A 6-foot, 4-inch guard, Bingham made nine starts in 22 appearances, checking in at 16.7 minutes per contest this past season. He averaged 6.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per night for the Bears, shooting 48.5 percent from the field, 36.0 percent on 3's and 82.8 percent from the free throw line.
He scored in double-figures in seven games, including a season-high 15 against Mississippi Gulf Coast in mid-January.
A graduate of Terry High School, he was ranked No. 18 in the state of Mississippi by MaxPreps.com. A two-time team "Best Offensive Player", he led the squad to a 20-8 mark and the MHSAA state tournament as a senior. He was also the 2017 Slam Dunk champion of the Mississippi Junior All-Star Game and the MVP of the 2016 Crystal Springs High School Holiday Tournament.
