MILWAUKEE – Mitchell Buban of the Milwaukee baseball team was named Horizon League Batter of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Buban batted .400 (6-for-15) as the Panthers went a perfect 3-0 at the D9 Sunshine State Classic over opening weekend. He had a double, triple and drove in 5 runs, scoring once.
 
Buban batted safely in all three games, led by a 4-for-5 effort against Villanova where he drove in two. He also keyed the comeback against Pitt with a two-run single in the fourth, putting MKE ahead for good.
 
The honor is a career-first for Buban.
