Celebrate Homecoming Week With The Panthers

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Athletic Department invites you to "Bring the Roar" this week as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee celebrates Homecoming and Panther Pride from Nov. 4th through the 9th.
 
The week full of events got underway yesterday with the annual building of the Pounce Panther balloon sculpture and "Minute to Win it" games.
 
The residence halls will be hosting several events throughout the week including Pouncefest, the Golden Egg Hunt, LLC Banner Competition and a Black and Gold Bowling party.

Athletics will be hosting several events as well, with the season opener against Concordia Wisconsin set for Tuesday, the women's basketball season opener slated for Wednesday night, the women's soccer team in the postseason Thursday night and both volleyball and men's soccer on Friday. It all culminates with the men's basketball Homecoming contest against Western Michigan Saturday evening.
 
In addition, the UWM Alumni Association will be hosting the annual Panther Bash Tailgate.
 
They invite you kick off a spirited evening of Homecoming celebration by showcasing your Panther pride as you connect with fellow alumni and pump up your pregame excitement!  Enjoy a tailgate menu at 3:30 p.m. with a cash bar at Turner Hall before walking down the street to cheer on the Milwaukee men's basketball team at the Panther Arena that begins at 6:00 p.m.

Make it a full day of fun on Saturday, beginning with the Hall of Fame ceremony at noon. Four former Milwaukee student-athletes and a longtime staff member will be inducted into the Bud K. Haidet Milwaukee Athletics Hall of Fame, hosted by Holiday Inn Milwaukee Riverfront on Saturday, Nov. 9. The members of the Class of 2019 include Molly Finn (swimming), Tenia Fisher (track & field), Scott Gillitzer (baseball) and Clay Tucker (basketball), as well as long-time athletic trainer John Ochsenwald. Interested parties can now make plans to join the festivities and register through the following attendance LINK.
 
The Hall of Fame banquet honoring these five individuals will take place at an afternoon luncheon on Saturday, November 9, at the Holiday Inn – Riverfront (4700 North Port Washington Rd, Milwaukee, Wis.). Close out the day with the Panthers taking on the Broncos, tipping off at 6 p.m. from UWM Panther Arena. Gruber Law Offices is sponsoring the homecoming contest and there will be an all-fan t-shirt give-a-way for those in attendance.
