MILWAUKEE – The next episode of the "PounceCast" – a feature that provides more content and helps tell the stories behind Milwaukee Panther Athletics – is available as of today. 
 
The podcast, hosted by Matt Menzl, is designed to take listeners behind the scenes with key members of the Panther community.
 
The next episode (38:23) features former Milwaukee men's and women's soccer head coach Brian Tompkins, and is available HERE.

Tompkins, a member of the Bud K. Haidet Hall of Fame (Class of 2007), served as the men's coach from 1989 to 1995 and was the leader of the women's program from 1987 to 1988.
 
He played an instrumental role in building the Panthers into a national soccer power, accumulating a 90-41-11 overall record, helping MKE to a Big Central Soccer Conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 1990 and a Mid-Continent Conference title in 1993. His teams were ranked in the Top 25 in four of his final six seasons. Tompkins also helped get the women's soccer program off the ground in 1987 and then led the Panthers to 10 wins and a national ranking in 1988. He succeeded Bob Gansler as the men's coach in 1989.

Tompkins left Milwaukee to become the head coach at Yale, leading the program from 1996 through the 2014 campaign, before moving into an administrative role. He would claim 138 victories, winning the Ivy League Championship in 2005 - the first for the program since 1991 - and led the team to NCAA Tournament appearances in 1999 and 2005.

A native of London, England, Tompkins has also coached with the Bavarians Soccer Club, the Wisconsin Olympic Development Select Team and the Midwest Olympic Development Program.
 
The Milwaukee Athletic Department announced the creation of this monthly podcast back in January of 2023.
