Horizon League Reveals 2018-19 Conference Slate

Panthers to open league play by hosting Green Bay on Dec. 28

MILWAUKEE – Following a program record three consecutive postseason berths, the Milwaukee women's basketball team will begin the 18-game conference slate on Dec. 28 by hosting in-state rival Green Bay from the Klotsche Center. The entire conference schedule was released by the Horizon League office on Thursday.
 
After starting its conference season at home, the Panthers hit the road to start the new year, taking on Northern Kentucky Jan. 3 before a Jan. 5 contest at Wright State.
 
MKE returns to campus to take on Youngstown State the following Thursday for its annual School Day game at 11 am from the Klotsche Center. Two days later, the Panthers will finish up their brief two-game homestand when take on Cleveland State at 2 pm.
 
Up next is Milwaukee's first Friday-Sunday weekend trip of the conference season with a pair of contests in Detroit. The weekend starts Friday, Jan. 18 with a trip to the city's north side to take on Oakland before a Sunday matinee at Detroit Mercy.
 
The Panthers then start a three-week stretch where they don't have to leave their home state. IUPUI comes to the Klotsche Center for a 7 pm game on Thursday, Jan. 24 before a Saturday afternoon showdown with UIC at 2 pm. Milwaukee will have just one game the following week, heading north for its rematch with Green Bay Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 pm. MKE will then return to campus for two more home games, taking on Wright State (Feb. 7) and Northern Kentucky (Feb. 9).
 
Four of the final six games of the season will come on the road this year for the Black & Gold, starting with a trip to Northeast Ohio. The Panthers will play at Cleveland State on Feb. 15 before a Sunday showdown at Youngstown State Feb. 17.
 
The final homestand of the season starts Thursday, Feb. 21 by welcoming Detroit Mercy to Milwaukee. This year's final home game will come Saturday, Feb. 23 with a matchup against Oakland.
 
MKE will wrap up its regular season with a short drive to Chicago for a Feb. 28 contest at UIC before closing things out in Indianapolis at IUPUI on March 2.
 
The Horizon League Tournament will have a different look this year. The top eight teams will qualify for the quarterfinals, which will be hosted by the top four available teams on campus sites between March 5-6. The semifinals and championship will then head back to Little Caesar's Arena, with this year's champion crowned on Tuesday, March 12.
