Panthers Host Wisconsin Tuesday From Klotsche Center

Game broadcast live on Fox Sports Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee women's basketball team makes its home debut Tuesday by welcoming Wisconsin to the Klotsche Center for a 7 pm contest. The Panthers will be looking to bounce back after a two-point road loss in their season opener at Indiana. MKE will also be looking for their third-straight win over UW, claiming wins in the series each of the last two seasons. Tuesday's game will air live on Fox Sports Wisconsin, with Bob Brainerd and Maria Viall on the call. Matt Menzl will also have the radio call for Milwaukee on the Black & Gold Network, with live stats also available.

LOOKING AT THE BADGERS
Wisconsin put together an impressive win in their season opener against Winthrop with a 76-41 victory. Senior forward Marsha Howard led the Badgers with 18 points and 14 rebounds in the opener, helping hold Winthrop to just 23.4 percent shooting for the game.

In all, four of UW's top-five scorers from a season ago return, accounting for 74 percent of its scoring and 67 percent of its rebounds from the 2017-18 squad. The Badgers also see the additions of redshirt senior transfer Kelly Karlis (Ohio), redshirt freshman transfer Alex Luehring (Green Bay) and highly regarded true freshman Imani Lewis.

THE LAST TIME THEY MET...
Bailey Farley finished with a game-high 16 points – nine coming in the fourth quarter – to help Milwaukee to a 67-64 win over the University of Wisconsin Thursday evening from the Kohl Center.

The Panthers (8-2) – now winners of eight in a row – once again turned in an impressive defensive showing, limiting the Badgers (7-6) to just 36 percent shooting for the game – their third-lowest performance of the season.

The win is the second straight for Milwaukee over the Badgers and marks the first time in program history MKE has taken down two Big Ten teams in the same year after defeating Northwestern 66-57 on Dec. 3.

SERIES HISTORY
Milwaukee has won two in a row against their in-state rival to pull within 3-19 in the series since Milwaukee moved to the DI level.

UP NEXT
The Panthers wrap up their brief two-game homestand Friday when Columbia comes to campus for a 7 pm contest. That game will mark the first matchup against the Ivy League for Milwaukee in program history.
