MILWAUKEE - Freshman Jake Tuttle pitched six strong innings and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee baseball team scored seven runs over the first two innings to jumpstart a 15-1 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College Monday afternoon at Henry Aaron Field.

The Panthers (22-19) batted around in the first and never looked back, improving to 12-0 all-time against the Warriors (17-15). The win also gave the team a perfect 8-0 mark at home in 2013.

Freshman Jake Tuttle (1-0) picked up the first victory of his collegiate career with a strong outing. He gave up just three hits in his 6.0 innings of work, allowing one run, walking one and striking out seven batters.

Freshman Nick Unes led a 14-hit attack, going 3-for-5 with five runs batted in, including a bases-loaded double that scored all three runners.

Senior Drew Pearson went 3-for-5 at the plate, driving in a pair of runs, and also pitched in the ninth inning, recording a strikeout and a ground out against the two batters he faced.

Senior Will Fadness reached base safely in all six of his plate appearances, going 2-for-2 with two walks and was hit by a pitch twice. He scored a career-best four runs in the process.

Junior Ryan Solberg also added a perfect day, going 1-for-1 with two walks and two hit-by-pitches, scoring three times while adding an RBI.

Junior Pat Wilson (2-for-5, 2 runs, 2 RBI) rounded out the multi-hit efforts for the Panthers. Garrick Day had two hits for the Warriors, with Mitch Skarbon adding an RBI-triple to break up the shutout.

Milwaukee looks for a season sweep of Big Ten opponents next, heading to Minnesota for a 3 p.m. game Wednesday. The Panthers have already defeated Northwestern and Iowa this season.
