Panthers Get Solid Play On Day One Of Ball State Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee got solid performances from both veterans and newcomers on day one of the Ball State Invitational Friday.

In all, Panther players won 10 singles matches and one of three doubles contests on the day.

Freshman Kelly Fritz won twice in Flight C singles, freshman Beth Ganser and junior Jenna Felsher each claimed a pair of victories in Flight D singles and senior Kari Kastenholz won her only match in the top flight.

Kastenholz and Kelly Drvaric also won their only doubles contest of the day.

In Flight B singles, Sammi Schoen split a pair of matches, as did Brittany Skemp. Megan Gow also split a pair of contests in Flight C.

Action in the eight-team event continues all day Saturday, with champions crowned in four flights of singles play and four flights of doubles action.
