Three University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee players won singles-flight titles as the Panthers' women's tennis team put together another solid performance at the Hinds-Kellogg Classic at Western Illinois this weekend.
Megan Gow won the Flight C championship, Kelly Fritz captured the Flight D title and Beth Ganser brought home the Flight F title.
UWM players also won five other singles matches and four doubles contests.
Gow claimed her title with three straight-sets wins, while Fritz won a pair of tiebreaker sets before capturing a 6-1, 6-1 win in the title match. Meanwhile, Ganser rolled to her first two victories before needing a tiebreaker to pull out her final contest.
Sammi Schoen also posted a strong performance, advancing to the title match in Flight B after a pair of straight-sets wins. In her final outing, she dropped a tiebreaking third-set.
Brittany Skemp won two of her three matches in Flight E, falling in a tiebreaker in the title contest after claiming straight-sets victories in her first two outings.
The Panthers will wrap up their fall schedule with a single match at Whitewater Saturday.
