After allowing an unearned run in the top of the fifth, Milwaukee made it 7-2 with three more runs in the bottom half of the frame. Wilson led off as the first of four-straight singles and senior Charlie Reschke hit the last, scoring Wilson. Two batters later, Graff ripped a two-run double down the left-field line to cap the scoring.

In the eighth inning, the Bulldogs fought back within two at 7-5 on a three-run pinch-hit home run by Matt Martino. Joe Pauley had reached on a Panther error and Robby Santoni walked before Martino followed with his second home run of the season.

Sorenson (9-3) struck out five in tying Quintin Oldenburg's school-record win total from both 2001 and 2002. Sophomore Rob Brockel pitched the final two innings for UWM, allowing a pair of earned runs on Martino's home run.
