JONESBORO, Ark. -
Ross McCoy had two hits and Robert Michalkiewicz allowed just three runs but the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee fell 6-3 to Arkansas State Saturday in the second game of a three-game series.
The Panthers (2-3), who won the opener Friday, recorded eight hits and left only four runners on base but could not completely overcome an early 3-0 deficit.
Michalkiewicz allowed his three runs in five innings of work. McCoy also drove in two of UWM's three runs, with Charlie Reschke recording the other RBI.
Arkansas State (11-3) scored three times in the bottom of the third inning and, after UWM pulled within 4-3 in the top of the sixth, pulled away with two more insurance runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The series concludes with a single game Sunday.
