Panthers Claim Win Over Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. - Aaron Sorenson carried a perfect game into the seventh inning and Ross McCoy collected three hits as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee opened a three-game road series with a 7-3 win over Arkansas State Friday afternoon.

Sorenson (1-1) wound up working seven innings, allowing two earned runs and three hits while striking out seven. Rick Cavaiani pitched one inning of scoreless relief before Jed Dolske came on to record the save.

Along with McCoy's three hits, Matt Curran, Nicholas Wichser and Jeremy Wilson each had two hits apiece for the Panthers (2-2).

Senior Blake Ring (2-1) lost for the first time this season as a starter for the Indians (10-3).

The series continues Saturday afternoon with a 2 p.m. contest.
