Nebraska Sweeps Past Panthers

LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska exploded offensively late in a pair of games Friday afternoon, sweeping past the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 8-0 and 9-6.

In game one, Nebraska put the game away with five runs in the eighth inning. Aaron Marsden shot down the Panther offense, allowing just four hits in 7 2/3 innings. Aaron Bushong pitched well as a starter, allowing just three unearned runs and three hits in 6 2/3 innings.

In game two, the Panthers led early and had the game tied at 6 entering the bottom of the eighth inning. But the Cornhuskers exploded for three runs in the inning off of reliever Cory Kleeba to win the game.

Troy Doering and Steve Sanfillippo had two runs batted in apiece for the Panthers.

The two teams will try to play another single game tomorrow.
