UWM scored seven times over the final three innings to record an 8-4 win over Valparaiso Thursday afternoon.
The win is the fourth-straight come-from-behind victory for the Panthers (11-11), who have won seven of their last eight games.
UWM trailed 4-1 entering the top of the seventh inning, but started its rally with a two-run single from Steve Guden. The Panthers tied the score in the eighth when Charlie Reschke scored on a passed ball, then took the lead for good on a Dan Kardelis RBI double. Dave Pudlosky and Guden each added RBI singles to cap the four-run eighth and Kardelis pitched-in with an RBI single in the ninth for insurance.
Kardelis collected a career-high four hits and drove in two runs. Guden was 2-for-4 with three RBI and Shane Davis cracked a solo home run.
Mikel Schaefer (1-1) worked the final three innings without allowing a run to pick up the victory. Jed Dolske was also strong in relief, working 3 1/3 innings of one-hit ball.
Rodney Benner absorbed the loss in relief for Valpo (4-19-1), which lost for the 19th time in 19 outings against NCAA Division I competition.
UWM returns to action Friday afternoon, traveling to Indianapolis to open a four-game series with Butler. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m.
