The UWM baseball team scored five times in the top of the seventh inning to rally for a 12-11 win over UW-Parkside in the second game of a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon. The Rangers won the first game 19-4.

The Panthers (26-14) entered the seventh inning trailing 11-7. But, with one out, Dave Pudlosky and Shane Davis connected on back-to-back solo homers. Then, after Jeff Pitrof singled, Matt Houk tied the game with a two-run homer to left. Scott Gillitzer then singled, advanced to third on an errant pick-off throw, and scored on a Jason Crawford sacrifice fly to give UWM the lead.

UWM had rallied from an early 5-2 deficit with three runs in the third inning. The first four men reached base in the inning, including RBI singles from Eric Goerdt and John VandenBerg.

Mike Oiler (6-5) pitched four innings in relief to claim the win. Pitrof had three hits, while Houk, Gillitzer, Pudlosky and Davis had two apiece for the Panthers.

In game one, Parkside (34-16) scored four times in the first, then put the game away with six runs in the fourth and eight more in the sixth. Jason Crawford (2-1) suffered the loss for the Panthers.

UWM now travels to Wright State for an MCC showdown with the second-place Raiders. Game one of the series is set for 5:30 p.m. CDT Friday.
