Dayton, Ohio - The UWM baseball team saw its season come to an end with a 5-4 loss to UIC on Saturday night. The Flames scored the winning run in the top of the ninth, and the Panthers had two runners on base in the bottom of the inning but could not tie the score.
UWM ends its season with a 30-24 record.
The Panthers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a Todd Ludwig home run, and by the fifth inning, UWM had built a 4-2 lead. But the Flames scored single runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth for the win.
Freshman Rob Erickson picked up the loss, as he pitched the ninth inning, allowing one hit and one run.
