Birmingham, Ala. - The UWM baseball team extended its winning streak to three games with a 13-6 win at Samford on Tuesday.
The Panthers improve to 3-8 on the season. Samford falls to 11-11.
Darin Haugom and Matt Houk led off the game with back-to-back doubles, giving UWM a quick 1-0 lead. UWM went on to score in the second, third and fifth innings for a 9-2 lead.
Haugom and Todd Ludwig each hit two-run home runs in the second inning. Eric Goerdt added a two-run shot in the ninth inning. Goerdt finished the day 4-for-6 with three RBIs.
Andy Neary (1-2) pitched six innings, allowing four earned runs. He struck out five and walked no batters.
The same two teams play on Wednesday in Birmingham.
