Richmond, Ky. - The UWM baseball team fell to 0-8 on the season after a pair of losses on Sunday in the Comfort Suites Invitational. UWM fell to Eastern Kentucky, 4-3, and to Akron, 8-3.
In the EKU loss, Chad Sadowski and Todd Ludwig each hit solo home runs in the game as the Panthers took a 3-1 lead midway through the sixth inning, but the Colonels rallied for two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh for the win.
Sadowski (0-3) picked up the loss on the mound, pitching six and a third innings, allowing nine hits and four runs.
In the Akron game, the Panthers scored three runs in the first inning, but were shutout the rest of the way. Scott Gillitzer went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs on a first-inning double.
Andy Neary (0-3) took the loss, pitching six innings and allowing four earned runs.
