The UWM women's basketball team defeated the Montana State Bobcats 63-52 at the Klotsche Center Sunday.
The Panthers (3-2) won their first home game of the season behind a spectacular performance from freshman guard, Jessica Wilhite, who scored a career-best 17 points.
The Panthers built a lead in the first half on the strength of hitting 11 of 16 field goal attempts to finish out the half leading, 39-29.
UWM used a balanced attack to close out Montana State in the second half. Ten different Panthers scored in the game, including a double-double from junior center Janelle Jonason of 11 points and 11 rebounds.
"It was a good balanced attack," said Panther coach Sandy Botham. "We showed that we can keep our poise in a game like this."
Montana State was led by the shooting of junior guard, Amy Meckling who led all scorers with 22 points.
The Panthers travel to Hawaii this week for the Hawaii Invitational to be played from December 10-12.
