Track & Field Regional History

Heading into the 2010 season, the NCAA reduced the number of regional meets to just two - the East and West Regions. The top 48 individuals in each event qualify for regionals, with Milwaukee competing in the west region. There, the field is whittled down, with the top 12 punching their tickets to the NCAA Championships.

Prior to change going into 2010, regional marks were established before the start of each season. Individuals that reached that mark during the season, as well as league champions, qualified for regionals. The top five finishers from each region automatically advanced to the NCAA Championships.
