2021-22 Season
2022 Outdoor: Competed in four meets ... placed third in the 5000m at the Horizon League Championships with a time of 14:45.83 ... set school record in the 5000m at the Raleigh Relays on March 24 with a time of 14:28.02 ... finished second in the 1500m April 14 at the Warrior Invite at 4:04.79 ... finished runner-up in the 5000m at the Illini Invite on April 23.
2022 Indoor: Scored in the mile at the Horizon League Championships, placing fifth with a time of 4:12.99 ... took 16th at the league meet in the 3000m at 8:48.21 ... tallied a pair of event wins at the Tierney Classic on January 29 in the mile and 3000m ... opened the campaign with a runner-up finish in the 3000m at the Hawkeye Invite on January 15 ... ran a season-best 8:19.30 in the 3000m to place third on February 11.
Cross Country: Competed in six meets and was named to the league All-Academic team ... was the top Panther finisher in five of the six ... finished as the fifth Milwaukee runner at the Horizon League Championships, placing 38th at 27:19.4 ... opened the season with a third overall finish at the Vic Godfrey Open running 18:42.2 in the 6k ... first Panther to cross the line at the NCAA Midwest Regional at 31:46.6 and placing 79th.
2020-21 Season
2021 Outdoor: Ran two events at the Horizon League Championships... Placed 11th in the 5,000-meter (14:58.66) and earned a podium finish in the 1,500-meter race, finishing third in 3:54.71... Opened the season at the Illinois State Redbird Invitational and won the 5,000-meter in 14:56.67... Cut off over 12 seconds for a new PR of 14:46.64 at the Gibson Invitational to place second... One week later, won the 1,500-meter race with a personal-best time of 3:57.41.
2021 Indoor: Raced in the 5,000-meter at the Horizon League Championships and took third place with a time of 14:54.49... Opened the year with back-to-back first-place finishes... Won the 3,000-meter race at the John Tierney Classic in 8:39.45 and followed with a title at the Panther Tune-Up on February 14, winning the 5,000-meter in 14:50.44... That time places him ninth on the Panthers all-time top-10 list.
Cross Country: Led Milwaukee at the Horizon League Championships, placing sixth placed in the field of 66 runners... Named First Team All-League... Crossed in 25:45.3 and helped the Panthers grab fourth place as a team.
2019-20 Season
2020 Outdoor: Season cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2020 Indoor: Had a podium finish in the 3000m at the Horizon League Championships, placing sixth with a time of 8:38.30 ... also helped the DMR relay to a third-place finish at the League meet (10:22.23) ... opened the season, winning the 3000m (8:40.28) event at the Tierney Classic home opener, Jan. 18 ... then placed fourth in the mile at the ONU Invite, Feb. 1, with a time of 4:23.87 ... finished 33rd in the 3000m at the GVSU Big Meet, Feb. 14, with a PR time of 8:34.00
2019 Cross Country: Had an impressive season, earning All-Academic and Second-Team All-League … placed 13th at the Horizon League Championships (Nov. 2) in 24:48.1 … opened the season leading the Panthers at the Queen City Invite (Aug. 31), placing 30th in 16:05.8 … one week later, competed at the NIU Huskie Challenge (Sep. 6), finishing 17th in 26:54.2 … scored for the Panthers at the Loyola Lakefront Invite (Sep. 28) with a 60th-place finish in 26:21.5 … was the second Panther to cross the line at Pre-Nationals (Oct. 19), placing 33rd with a personal record 8K time of 25:45.4 … capped the season off with an 85th-place finish at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet (Nov. 15) in a personal record 10K time of 32:29.2 … his finish ranks as the 30th-best finish of any Panther at the regional meet
2018-19 Season
2019 Outdoor: Came in ninth in the 1500m and 17th in the 5k at the Horizon League Championships to close out his freshman season ... had a season-best 1500m time of 4:01.26 in finals at the league meet ... started the outdoor season taking third in the 1500m in 4:03.26 at the Jack Shaw Classic April 5 ... clocked his first 5k of the year in 15:19.69 at Kentucky April 20 ... just four days later, came in runner-up in the 1500m in 4:01.30 at Marquette.
2019 Indoor: Helped the DMR to a fourth-place finish at his first Horizon League Championships ... made his collegiate track debut Jan. 12 at the Badger Icebreaker, taking fourth in the mile in 4:28.32 ... one week later, came in third in the 3k in 8:42.67 at the Tierney Classic ... lowered that time to 8:37.82 at the Meyo Invite Feb. 2 ... finished seventh in the mile in 4:20.29 at the GVSU Big Meet Feb. 9.
2018 Cross Country: Had an impressive freshman campaign, helping Milwaukee bring home a runner-up trophy at the Horizon League Championships, scoring and taking 27th overall in 26:15.3 ... helped MKE earn a regional ranking, checking in at No. 13 - the highest ranking in program history ... made his collegiate debut with a bang, winning his opening meet at Green Bay Sept. 1 ... one week later, again scored in his first 8k with a time of 26:31.1 to take 20th overall at the Vic Godfrey Invite ... again scored and finished 29th in 26:28.3 at Indiana State's home meet Sept. 15 ... had a big time drop the next time out, crossing the line in 25:47.1 at the Loyola Lakefront Invite Sept. 29 ... crossed the line in 26:13.4 at the Bradley Classic Oct. 12 ... closed out his freshman season taking 141st at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in 33:51.
High School
Was a big part of Valders' resurgence on the cross country scene in Wisconsin ... after finishing 122nd overall at the state meet as a freshman, Wenzel dropped over a minute off his time to take 17th as a sophomore ... as a junior, he helped the Vikings finish runner-up at state by taking fourth individually ... capped his prep cross country career by taking third overall and helping Valders to its first state title in nearly 30 years ... followed that up with a monster performance at his senior year's state track meet, bringing home state titles in both the 1600m (4:20.70) and 3200m (9:21.44), turning in PR times in both events ... was a high honor roll student all four years.
