OConnell Batter of the Week 4-20-2026

Dylan O’Connell Earns Second Horizon League Batter of the Week Honor

April 20, 2026

INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time this season, Milwaukee outfielder Dylan O'Connell has been selected as the Horizon League Batter of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

O'Connell played a major role in helping the Panthers to a 4-0 week, which included a non-conference win over Central Michigan on Monday, followed by a three-game sweep over Northern Kentucky at Franklin Field.

In Milwaukee's four wins, O'Connell led the Panthers with 10 hits, including a double and two home runs, while batting .588 for the week. He drove in three runs, walked three times for a .667 on-base percentage, and scored 10 runs.

While on base, the junior was a constant threat for the Panther offense, going 9-for-9 in stolen base attempts, including a Milwaukee and Horizon League record of five steals in Thursday's win over Northern Kentucky.

O'Connell has 29 steals in 30 attempts this year in his first season with the Panthers. He owns a team-best .360 batting average and 1.105 OPS, with 45 hits, including 11 doubles, one triple, and eight home runs.

He also leads the team with 82 total bases and a .656 slugging percentage and ranks second with a .449 on-base percentage.

In 128 career games, spanning time at St. Thomas (Minn.) and Western Kentucky, he holds a .289/.365/.422 slash line with 132 hits, including 22 doubles and 11 home runs. He has driven in 64 runs and scored 99 times and stolen 56 bases.

O'Connell's first selection as Horizon League Batter of the Week also followed Milwaukee's series win at Northern Kentucky on March 16.

Milwaukee returns to action Tuesday afternoon, hosting St. Thomas (Minn.) at 3:00 p.m. at Franklin Field.
