MILWAUKEE – Nadiia Konieva and
Sara Simonova of the Milwaukee women's tennis team have been named to the Horizon League Valeo All-Academic Team, announced today by the league office.
This marks the third straight yearly selection for both student-athletes while also extending the program streak to five consecutive seasons that the Panthers have had two players on the squad.
Konieva, psychology major with an impressive 3.983 GPA in the classroom, currently holds a record of 16-7 in singles (second-most wins on the team) and a 15-7 record in doubles this school year. A Second-Team All-Horizon League honoree as a junior a year ago, she has also earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in both 2024 and 2025. A 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete, she was named First Team All-Horizon League and Freshman of the Year in 2023.
Simonova, a political science major with a near-perfect 3.991 GPA, has registered records of 18-5 in doubles and 6-12 in singles play so far in 2026, leading the Panthers in doubles victories. Also a very strong student in the classroom, Simonova was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in both 2024 and 2025 and was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete in 2022. She has been named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll every semester eligible.
