This Fall 2026 issue is highlighted with a feature story on Sam Lorenz.

Lorenz became the first male swimmer in Milwaukee swimming program history to qualify for and compete at the NCAA Championships last year. He won the Horizon League title in the 100 backstroke in a championship-record 45.81, qualified for the NCAAs in both the 100 and 200 back, and set multiple Milwaukee records. At NCAAs, he lowered his school record to 45.71 in the 100 back and 1:40.38 in the 200 back.

The story is authored by Gary D'Amato, the former longtime sportswriter and columnist for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, who joined the staff as the feature writer for the Roar Report in September of 2018.
