Milwaukee Ranked 20th as WBCA Announces Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll

July 22, 2025

ATLANTA – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its annual Academic Top-25 Team Honor Rolls on Tuesday afternoon, with Milwaukee women's basketball finishing in the top 25.

This past academic year Milwaukee had a cumulative 3.667 grade-point average placing the Panthers in a tie for 20th among all Division I basketball programs. The Panthers move into the top 25 this season after earning special mention honors in 2023-24.

MKE is one of just seven Horizon League teams to earn the honor and is one of just the 115 total Division I programs to record a cumulative GPA greater than a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.

"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew.  "The 119 teams we honor this year strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!"

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2024-25 season is the 30th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
