CLEVELAND – Anna Lutz of Milwaukee basketball earned national recognition on Wednesday morning as she was named to the Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team.

Lutz was one of just 11 student-athletes to earn the honor, following a successful career in both the classroom and on the basketball court at Milwaukee. She will complete her undergraduate studies this spring with a degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in physics.

The Marshall, Wis. native entered her final term at UW-Milwaukee with a 3.99 grade-point average.

"It gives us immense pride to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our men's and women's scholar-athlete teams this year," stated Division I-AAA ADA President and Director of Athletics at Loyola Chicago, Steve Watson. "These students exemplify the perfect balance between academic and athletic commitment. The dedication of these students enhances the core values that we aim to foster in college athletics."

With her selection to the DI-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete Team, Lutz adds to her already decorated academic resume, which includes consecutive selections to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams in both 2024 and 2025. At the Horizon League level, she was also recognized this season as a member of the All-Academic Team and has earned Horizon League Academic Honor Roll accolades in every semester she has been eligible.

On the court, Lutz capped off her career averaging 11 points per game as a senior, ranking  18th among all Horizon League student-athletes. She was also ranked in the top-20 in the Horizon League in both rebounding (5.3 per game) and blocks (1.0 per game).

In four years with the Panthers, she scored 763 points (8.6 per game) and collected 424 career rebounds (4.8 per game). She saw time in 89 career games with 60 starts. She connected on 46.9 percent of her attempts from the floor, finishing with 307 makes from the field.

Each of the nominees is required to maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
