MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Athletics announced today a pair of staff promotions that have recently been made official.
 
Annika Martensson has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management and Adam Thompson has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations.
 
Martensson joined the Panthers as Director of Facilities and Event Operations in November of 2022 before moving to Assistant AD for Facilities & Event Management. She will take on a larger role in the External Operations management area with Senior Associate Director of Athletics of External Relations Adam Ahearn. Martensson will also work as a sport supervisor in addition to taking on larger facility and capital work.
 
"Annika continues to impress our staff with her dedication to the student-athlete experience through her daily work," Deputy Director of Athletics Cathy Rossi said. "Annika displays a deep desire to learn and is a tremendous asset to our department. Her quality of work is second to none and we're excited to continue to support her growth here as a Panther."
 
Thompson was named Director of Business Operations in March of 2023 and is responsible for managing the Milwaukee financial operations, including budget projections, planning, developing, and managing all athletic program budgets. Thompson will join the MKE Senior Leadership Team and will take on a larger role in the overall department budget management work.
 
"In Adam's time with Panther Athletics he has proven himself as a consummate professional and has demonstrated the necessary skills to continue to be very successful in his enhanced role in our business office," Rossi said. "I look forward to continuing to work with Adam and supporting his continued growth in this industry."
