CHICAGO – The Milwaukee women's tennis team opened the first of two weekend matches in Chicago against DePaul Friday afternoon, falling by a final score of 4-0 at XS Tennis Village.
The Panthers (6-14) continue to return to full-health, coming up short against a Blue Demon (10-10) squad that improved to 5-2 at home this season with the decision.
"We are still battling injuries but the team fought hard," head coach
Mark Goldin said. "We have some big conference matches coming up so we will need to be ready. We are hoping to get everyone healthy, but either way, we will have the 'next up'-mentality and compete hard."
That begins right away tomorrow, as the team remains in town to return to conference action and take on Chicago State Saturday, set for a 3 p.m. start.
