MILWAUKEE – Purdue Fort Wayne knocked down 14 three-pointers as the visiting Mastodons handed the Milwaukee women's basketball team an 82-46 loss on Thursday evening.

Lauren Ross and Audra Emmerson each had a team-best 12 points for the Mastodons, while Amellia Bromenschenkel added 11 and Renna Schwieterman scored 10 for PFW.

Milwaukee was led by
Izzy Pugh, who had nine points off the bench. Pugh and
Jorey Buwalda were tied for the team lead with five rebounds, while
Kamy Peppler had a game-high three assists for the Panthers.

Purdue Fort Wayne finished the game shooting 51.8 percent from the field, and an impressive 51.9 percent from three. In comparison, the Panthers made 32.7 overall and just 25.0 percent from three.

"They're playing well right now," commented head coach
Kyle Rechlicz on Purdue Fort Wayne. "We knew they were hot coming in after 15 threes at Detroit on Sunday. They're playing some good basketball right now, and to compete with them, you can't be turning the basketball over."

Milwaukee turned the ball over 23 times leading to 31 points off turnovers for the Mastodons. PFW also scored 30 points in the paints to 16 by the Panthers.

Purdue Fort Wayne jumped out to an early lead and held a 22-5 advantage after the first quarter and did not turn back. The Mastodons led 66-29 after three quarters before the Panthers won the final ten minutes by a 17-16 score.

In addition to Pugh, Milwaukee got six points from Peppler and five each from Buwalda,
Kacee Baumhower,
Anna Lutz, and
Grace Lomen.

Milwaukee finishes the regular season and will await their opponent, who will be determined on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers will play on the road in the Barbasol Horizon League Championship First Round on Tuesday, Mar. 4 at a time to be determined.
