"Olivia comes to as a captain with significant experience at the collegiate level at center back at her previous institution," Boyd said. "She is talented, a great teammate, and is driven to find success in her final year of school. We are excited to bring her leadership to our back line."

On the field, she was named Second Team All-MVC as a sophomore and to the MVC All-Freshman Team in 2023.

O'Brien appeared in all 16 games this past season as a freshman, making four starts. In high school, the four-year letterwinner was named First-Team All-State in 2024 and was a four-time All-Suburban East Conference performer (2021-2024). The team captain as a senior, O'Brien was selected as a three-time team defensive MVP (2022-24) and two-time IBEAR Award winner (2023-2024).

"Abby has versatility to her game with the ability to play either in the midfield or at center back," Boyd said. "She is dominant in the air and can handle the ball well. We believe she is a great addition to the team we are putting together for next year, both with her soccer and as a teammate.
