MILWAUKEE – Nic Diana of the Milwaukee men's soccer team has been named the Horizon League Under Armour Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon.
Diana came up with a huge effort in the 2-1 win for the Panthers over Northern Kentucky to keep the team in line for a home contest in the postseason.
He tied his career high with an eight-save performance to help lead the team to the win, playing nearly a third of the match down a man due to a red card.
The weekly honors is the second of the season, and third in his career, for the MKE goalkeeper. It also marks the third of the season for the squad, as
Fernando Pirry also picked up offensive honors back in mid-September.
