MILWAUKEE – Mallory McGuire of the Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named the Horizon League Under Armour Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced this afternoon.
McGuire put together quite an effort in Milwaukee's 5-0 victory over Cleveland State, finishing with a career-high six points as she netted a pair of goals and added two more assists. It's the first weekly award of her career.
She scored early, getting MKE on the board at the 6:27 mark for the eventual game-winner. She added the second goal in the 24
th minute before assisting goals No. 3 and No. 4. She also fired off a career-high nine shot attempts, seven of which were on goal.
It's the seventh award of the season for the program, joining
Lola Wojcik (Offensive Sept. 29),
Kristina Karlof (Offensive Sept. 15),
Ashlyn Skinner-Barrett (Offensive Sept. 8),
Zoey Pagels (Offensive Aug. 18), and
Bella Hollenbach (twice).
