Baseball Welcomes 21 Newcomers to 2025 Roster

August 27, 2024

MILWAUKEE – Head baseball coach Shaun Wegner has announced the additions of 21 newcomers to the Milwaukee baseball roster for the upcoming 2025 season.

Wegner's incoming class will feature 12 pitchers and nine position players, representing six different states from throughout the region.

"I'd like to start out by recognizing my staff, Cory Bigler, Mike Porcaro, and Jack Sievers, for their hard work and dedication to the discovery, evaluation and ultimately relationship building that brings this class to Milwaukee," commented Wegner.

"I'm really excited at the group of not only players, but people and families, that we are bringing into the program for the 2025 season," he added. "We lost a large group of players from last year's roster and knew we had to target high-end, impact players to help us contend for the conference championship this year; as well as look towards future years and who we believe can develop into the type of players that will be successful in the Panther uniform."

Below are comments from the Milwaukee coaching staff on their additions.

Tyler Andrews – Freshman, LHP (Whitefish Bay, Wis. / Whitefish Bay HS)
"Tyler is a competitor and has succeeded on some big stages. He does a really good job of mixing speeds and has a natural feel for the mound. He will challenge for a weekend spot in the future, we're excited to see his development."

Parker Bleck – Freshman, RHP (Appleton, Wis. / Appleton Xavier HS)
"Parker is a true sinker-slider guy who loves to compete and attacks the strike zone. He is coming in as a physical athlete but will benefit from a strong fall and winter of development. He could fill multiple roles and has a high ceiling."

Connor Bozak – Junior, IF (Bay Village, Ohio / Cuyahoga CC)
"Connor is coming from the junior college level and will bring experience into our program. He moves well in the field with a quick catch-to-throw transfer and is going to fit in nicely with our infield group. His defensive abilities were a huge factor in our interest in him, but he also had a nice offensive season at Tri-C. He is a high-contact batter with a good understanding of what he is doing at the plate."

Zach Dohrmann – Junior, RHP (Farmington, Minn. / North Iowa Area CC)
"Zach is a very talented pitcher with room to grow, he can move the ball around the zone and is a born strike-thrower. He loves to compete and is all-in on his development. We are excited to see what he can achieve at Milwaukee."

Aric Ehmke – Junior, RHP (Waterloo, Ind. / Frontier CC)
"Aric is a highly competitive player who has options on both sides of the plate. He will not be outworked and has ability to understand and execute the game. It will be fun to see what he can achieve at this level."

Tristan Ellis – Sophomore, MIF (Greendale, Wis. / University of Minnesota)
"As a local student-athlete, we really wanted to bring Tristan home and we are glad he chose Milwaukee. He is an A+ player who just wants to play and throughout the recruiting process, you can sense how eager he is to get on the field and has lots of versatility in the infield. We couldn't be happier to add him to our group and believe he is going to do great things in a Panther uniform."

Aiden Fishnick – Junior, RHP (Barneveld, Wis. / McHenry CC)
"Aiden is a mature player, who pounds the strike zone and has off-speed options to attack right and left-handed hitters. He will have the opportunity to pitch in leverage, and we're excited to see him take another step forward in his playing career."

John Hadley – Freshman, 1B/OF (Sun Prairie, Wis. / Sun Prairie East HS)
"We wanted to bring in a bat with some power upside and John checked that box for us. He can really hit and has blossomed over the past year or so on the travel and high school scene. He helped lead his high school team to the State Championship this past year and is bringing that winning mentality to our program, which we certainly love. We expect his bat to impact our lineup in the future and we can't wait to work with him."

Caden Headlee – Grad, OF (Fargo, N.D. / Minnesota-Crookston)
"Caden has accumulated over 400 at bats the past two seasons at Minnesota-Crookston. We wanted a college veteran with experience and we are getting that with Caden. He is an above average defender that will bring loads of experience to our outfield group. He is hungry for an opportunity at the Division I level, and we are thrilled he has that chance with us."

Nick Heisl – Freshman, RHP (Germantown, Wis. / Germantown HS)
"Nick is a good athlete and will be plus in controlling the running game and fielding his position. He can really spin the breaking ball – which will play at any level. I am excited to see him get develop this fall and winter and into the spring season."

Bradyn Horn – Freshman, OF (Wind Lake, Wis. / Muskego HS)
"Bradyn is a great competitor that has experienced a ton of winning at nearby Muskego High School. As a quarterback in football, we knew there were leadership qualities there with Bradyn which made him very attractive as a recruit. He's a skilled player who we really feel has the ability to impact both sides of the ball at the college level. He takes good routes in the outfield, runs well, and is a consistent hitter. Bradyn has the intangibles to go along with the talent that will allow him to be very successful."

Charlie Marion – Junior, OF (Franklin, Wis. / Madison College)
"Charlie is a left-handed bat who can flat out hit ... every time we saw Charlie, he impacted the game with his bat. We are very excited to add his hitting ability to our offensive group. As a Franklin, Wisconsin-native it is extra special to bring Charlie home and have him representing Milwaukee at Franklin Field."

Matthew Mueller – Junior, LHP (Brookfield, Wis. / Gonzaga University)
"Matthew has only started to see what he is capable of on the mound, and his fastball will certainly play well at this level, and taking another step with his off-speed pitches will be the separator. He is a mature player that loves to compete, and we're excited to add him to the staff."

Eamonn Mulhern – Junior, RHP (Madison, Wis. / Madison College)
"Eamonn is a strike thrower with the ability to spin the ball both ways. He does a really nice job with the running game and moves around the field well. He has a huge frame, and we are excited to see him take another step in his development at this level."

Nick Nowak – Junior, C/Util (Waukesha, Wis. / Madison College)
"Nick is going to bring a lot of experience into our program to go along with his versatility. Behind the plate, in the infield, or in the outfield, he is going to make a huge impact on our team these next couple of years. He is a player that is willing to do the little things to help a team win. He is an old-fashioned baseball player, and we are thrilled to bring Nick close to home."

Cade Palkowski – Freshman, OF (Oak Creek, Wis. / Oak Creek HS)
"Cade is a tremendous talent from the local area. He is a dynamic athlete that has all the tools ... he can really go and get it in the outfield with a ton of upside in the box. He's another player that also played quarterback in high school, so the competitor and leadership qualities are there. We are super thrilled to have him in the program and grateful he chose to stay home and represent Milwaukee."

Tate Schmidt – Freshman, MIF (Waunakee, Wis. / Waunakee HS)
"We are very excited to welcome Tate into the program. He is an athletic infielder and has a huge amount of upside and will continue to get better as he physically develops and adds strength. We believe Tate has the ability to be a main stay for us in the middle infield."

Logan Schulfer – Senior, RHP (Plover, Wis. / Ball State University)
"Logan has a live arm and has off-speed options with a fastball that profiles well at this level. He is primed to have a great year and ready to realize his potential. We are excited to get to work with him this fall."

Gradin Taschner – Sophomore, RHP (Neenah, Wis. / Madison College)
"Gradin is a power pitcher that moves around the field well. His pitches profile well and is just starting to see what he is capable of. He loves to compete and will make an immediate impact for the team this year."

Alex Vander Loop – Freshman, RHP (Kimberly, Wis. / Kimberly HS)
"Alex can really pitch, and his combination of command and ability to spin the ball both ways giving him a chance to attack the lineup in different ways once it rolls over. Upon his return, he will make an immediate impact."

Mason Weckler – Sophomore, RHP (Belvidere, Ill. / UW-Stevens Point)
"Mason pitches with an edge and wants the ball when it matters. He has off-speed options that will allow him to fight to get into the starting rotation. He has a plus work ethic, and we are excited to add him to the staff."

"We used a combination of all avenues in the construction of this year's roster, and I believe we have the makeup to contend and compete right from day one in mid-February," Wegner concluded.
